BEING A FORTIS MEMBER
We understand that powerful networks are one of the most important resources for personal and professional development. We uphold the Honor Pledge by sharing our unique expertise, experiences, and personal networks to help each other strategize and solve challenges, and above all we join forces to maximize our positive impact. Among other means, we achieve this synergy by exchanging and developing ideas, starting business ventures together, sharing job and fellowship opportunities, providing moral support, making relevant introductions, and providing insight from our region or country.
ACTIVITIES
Given its global nature, the Fortis Society uses exclusive, web-based platforms to ensure easy, active communication among its Members around the world. The goal of engagement is to continuously maintain and strengthen the bonds between the Members.
WORKSHOPS
We learn from and educate others in virtual working groups that align with our interests. Emphasis is placed on organic dialogue that allows each of us to provide expert knowledge from our respective industries. We also benefit from exclusive small grant opportunities aimed at supporting our altruistic projects and initiatives.
MEMBERS-ONLY VIRTUAL PLATFORM
We have private access to the Fortis Society’s virtual platform which includes all shared resources within the Society, including: Members’ professional history and contact details, discussion forums, professional resources, and many more.
GLOBAL AND REGIONAL MEETINGS
Whether in-person or virtual, our Members’ convenings spark impactful connections and synergy among us. Gatherings in the form of global summits, sector-specific webinars, skills-based workshops, or informal hangouts allow us to unlock our potential growth through networking and peer-to-peer learning.
GOVERNANCE
The Fortis Society is self-governed, led by Members who serve on operating Circles, and are elected to the Governing Board. The Circles below show the various functions they fulfill, maintaining the consistent programming and operations of the Society:

Fortis is at present mainly funded by the Future Leaders Foundation. It aims to be increasingly self-financed through donations, sponsorship, and Member contributions.
DEMOGRAPHICS
The Society has a strong global presence with 100+ Members representing 50 different national backgrounds, spanning 5 continents, and specializing in a wide range of expertise. Since the organization is in its early years, Fortis Members currently range from recent graduates to young professionals.
